Aloha Amigos, I am still daydreaming about this Summer Italian trip... I am back on the blog, to give you tips on where to go and what to see in the most beautiful (for me) country on earth: Bella Italia!
After a long weekend in Paris, we head back to Italy and stopped by Milan, then Rome before heading to the Amalfi Coast (which is going to be another blog)...
Here it is a list of the "must see" places in the most fashionista capital of the world, Milan:
- Piazza del Duomo
- Sforza Castle
- Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II
- Santa Maria delle Grazie
- Via Manzoni (the fashion street)
- Teatro alla Scala
- Basilica di San Lorenzo
- Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie
Remember when I mentioned on "Paris in 4 days" blog post, on how to grab a metro map and circle all the areas you want to visit and you will find out how they are all close to each other? You can plan your trip the same exact way in every city you visit, even if there isn't a metro, a local tourist center will offer you a map of the city 😉
Everything we wanted to see was so close so my Momma and I started walking from the Hotel (AC Marriot) towards Piazza del Duomo, I knew that on our way we were going to pass through other delightful city sightings like Sforza Castle:
Another beautiful sighting is Porta Garibaldi:
And after a morning exploring the first part of Milano, it was time for lunch which meant getting some delicious Milano pasta... but before making your mouth drill lets walk around the Milan "Fashion Street", Via Manzoni which is the most busy and fashionable street that leads from the "Piazza della Scala north-west towards Piazza Cavour (take a note on that) 😉
And lunchtime arrived and I ate some delicious noquis with Gelato for dessert:
I was super excited to visit one of the most famous cathedrals in Italy, Piazza del Duomo:
It took six centuries to be completed and it is the largest church in Italy and the third largest in the world. It is the most amusing cathedral to see and I am sure the most inspiring cathedral to see for any architect out there. You have to see it, believe it to understand how it took 600 hundred years to be completed!
Then right around the Piazza del Duomo, you will find: Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II it is Italy's oldest active shopping mall and a huge landmark of Milan. It was built in 1865 in the center of town and it was named after Victor Emmanuel II the first King of the Kingdom of Italy. For more info click here 😉 My favorite stop was at Zara and the store here in Milano was amaaaaazing!!! see it yourself:
And to finish this short trip to Milan I leave you my friends with some other beautiful sights around Milano like Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie:
Stay tuned for our next trip we are going to explore: Rome!!!
Aloha!
Good to know that at least you are willing to chase your dreams.
